How the Compound Kings slime tubs differ from one another

Our single tubs of pre-made Compound Kings butter slime. One scent, one colour, one lid that clicks shut when the table has to go back to being a table.

What this shelf is for

A single tub is the honest way to meet the compound. There is enough of it for one pair of hands across several afternoons, and the scent is one scent rather than an assortment, so the tub smells like itself all the way down.

  • Pre-made compound in every tub
  • Scented before the lid goes down

How to choose within it

The large bucket changes the maths. Three pounds is a table-sized amount of Compound Kings slime: three or four children can work from the same tub without anyone running out, and it lasts long enough to stop feeling precious. The layered tub is the odd one in the shelf — worth buying for the first ten minutes alone, when the stripes are still intact.

  • Format first, scent second
  • Sealed tubs keep for months

Looking after it

Press the lid fully down after every session and keep the tub out of sun and off radiators. Our compound dries from the open surface inward, so air is the only thing that shortens its life.

A stiff rim can be kneaded back into the soft middle. Water and lotion cannot rescue a tub that has set through, and both make the body permanently wrong.

  • Lid down, cupboard not windowsill
  • Work on a tray, never on carpet

Asked about this shelf

How long does an opened tub stay usable?

Months, if the lid goes back on each time. The compound dries from the surface inward, so the enemy is air rather than age.

Does the scent fade?

It softens over the first few weeks and then holds. Blue raspberry and cookie dough keep longest; the fruit scents in the assorted boxes are lighter to begin with.

Is the compound sticky?

No. It releases from skin cleanly, which is the point of a butter-style body. If it is clinging, the tub has been left open and lost moisture.
